Recipe for carrot halwa

 Recipe for carrot halwa

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups grated carrots
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Some Dryfruits
  • 1cup khoya

Instructions:

  1. Heat the ghee in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the grated carrots and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until the carrots are soft and translucent.
  3. Add the milk and sugar and stir to combine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes, or until the halwa thickens and is no longer watery.
  5. Stir in the cardamom powder and chopped nuts (if using).
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, you can add 1/4 cup of khoya (mawa) to the halwa along with the sugar.
  • If you want a smoother halwa, you can puree the carrots before adding them to the pan.
  • To prevent the halwa from sticking to the pan, you can grease the pan with a little bit of ghee before adding the carrots.
  • Garnish the halwa with chopped nuts, raisins, or a dollop of whipped cream.

Enjoy!
