Dilicious and Quick Yummy Dal Tarka Recipe 😋😋

Dal Tarka is a popular Indian dish made with lentils, and it's easy to prepare at home. Here's a simple recipe for making Dal Tarka:

Ingredients:

1 cup of yellow or red lentils
3 cups of water
1 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of turmeric
1 tbsp of ghee or oil
1/2 tsp of cumin seeds
1/2 tsp of mustard seeds
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 inch of ginger, grated
1-2 green chilies, chopped
1/2 tsp of red chili powder (optional)
1 tomato, finely chopped
2 tbsp of chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

Rinse the lentils with water and soak them for 30 minutes.

Drain the water and transfer the lentils to a medium-sized saucepan. Add 3 cups of water, salt, and turmeric. Stir and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer until the lentils are soft, about 20-25 minutes.

Once the lentils are cooked, use a whisk or a spoon to mash them into a smooth consistency.

In a separate pan, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add cumin and mustard seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent. Add garlic, ginger, and green chilies, and cook for another minute.

Add red chili powder (optional) and chopped tomatoes. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.

Pour this mixture into the cooked lentils and mix well. Add water if the dal is too thick.

Simmer the dal for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

Your delicious Dal Tarka is now ready to be enjoyed!
